Last Song

When I go, don’t cry for me. Pray.  Show me love with a sense of peace and dance around me playing loud music. Don’t embalm me.  Let me rot.  Wrap my body in raw unbleached cotton and linen.  Perfume the stench of decaying flesh with frankincense and myrhh. Pray.  Within two days, stick me in a cardboard box adorned with hand painted farewells, trinkets and hand cut paper flowers.  Let those who love me carry me to the site.  Let those who love me dig into the earth as they cry.  Let those who need to say goodbye lower me into the ground and bury me, one scoop at a time.   Put me in the ground of some unpretentious sacred land and forget about me.  If needed, plant a tree.  Do not spend more than 500.00.
